Styling for Model Kate Thomas

When styling, it's important that you allow the clients sense of style and personal taste to shine through. Its easily achievable without compromising what you have in mind especially if its not something the client is use to.
When styling model Kate for her photo-shoot I had to first, know the concept of the shoot which plays an important factor. As a stylist it is important that the attire flows with the scenery. In this case because it is fall I decided to go with dark colors such as black, navy, orange, grey, and a splash of yellow and white. The photo-shoot concept was more of a hippie/vintage concept.

The hairstylist/MUA (Shannan) did an absolute great job on creating a look that went well with the concept. It reminds me of a style that would have been worn in the late 1800's or so somewhere in England or during the Shakespeare days. When working on someone's portfolio I always include their input when it comes to the fashion portion. I never want to take them out their comfort zone because it may show through their photos if they are not  feeling it. The dress she is wearing in both pics  are from Forever 21. What do you think about Kate's look?
